Patrick McFarlin

Narrative painting based on backwoods stories. McFarlin's compositions are beautiful and enigmatic, but still retain a strong sense of place. Originally from Arkansas, worked in the San Francisco Bay-Area, associated with the Funk Art Movement, now lives in Galisteo, New Mexico. Studio in Santa Fe. Married to author, Deborah Madison. During the nineties, hosted an open studio salon, Pat's Downtown Club, generating a series of portrait projects at SITE Santa Fe 1996-97, Napa Valley 1998-99, and at the Birmingham Museum of Art, 2001. Feautured on CBS Sunday Morning in 1999, a Martha Teichner segment.
